I am an enthusiastic Crochet Fashion Designer based in India, with a rich experience of over 9 years in creating bespoke dresses and artisanal designer wear.
From Circuit Boards to Crochet Hooks
I’m Monali Patil, the founder and lead designer of Hooks And Strings. By trade, I am an electronics engineer and a web designer. By passion, I am a fiber artist.
My journey didn’t start in a design school; it started with a forgotten box found in a rental apartment in 2016. Inside was a hook and some thread. That serendipitous find launched a decade-long obsession.
During the pandemic, crochet transitioned from a hobby to a lifeline. While the world was in chaos, the rhythm of the hook gave me order. The texture of the yarn gave me comfort. I realized that if this craft could heal me, the things I created could bring joy to others.
Why “Hooks And Strings”?
Life is a series of loose strings until we find the hook that pulls them together. For me, this brand is about connection. It’s about the string connecting me to the work, and the work connecting me to you.
